A good clean violin from Markneukirchen, made for the British or American market. Labelled “Copy of Antonius Stradivarius, Made in Germany” , this is a light and resonant example in a mid brown varnish, using good quality tonewoods. The two part back medium figured maple, the figure descending from the centre, the matching ribs and scroll, the front in a narrow grain spruce, broadening towards the wings. Well set up with new French bridge and soundpost, Wittner tailpiece with integral adjusters and Pirastro Tonica strings. As always, new case and bow included.
